PA in the WSJ

It was either another slow week for the Keystone state in the Wall Street Journal or I was too tired to be as thorough as usual. On the brighter side, I can trade in more frequent flyer miles to extend the subscription.

PA Politicians

If anything was there I missed it.

PA Businesses

This particular item lends itself to a lot of scatological humor possibilities, but I’ll let you figure them out for yourself. In “What’s really wrong with this house?” by Suzanne Barlyn, the author follows a home buyer in Bucks county to demonstration the home inspection process. The septic tank was problematic. Turns out the Pennsylvania Septage Management Association is in West Chester. George Allen Wastewater Management of Colmar and QC Laboratories of Southampton are also mentioned. (5/31)

Brief mention : Stradley Ronon Stevets & Young (5/29)

Other PA

An Algerine Spy in Pennsylvania by Peter Markoe (1787) is listed in the five best works on “the long history of America’s encounter with the Arab world” by Michael B Oren (6/02)

In “Florida hones plan to overhaul property taxes,” by Mark Whitehouse (5/29) there is a mention that Pennsylvania cut property taxes last year.

In “Why flights are getting longer,” by Scott McCartney (5/29) one of the flights given as an example is Philadelphia to San Francisco.

Other Interesting Tidbits

Nothing earthshattering
