Weekend Sixers SEPTA Service

SEPTA will run extra service this weekend on the Broad Street Line to accommodate crowds for the Broad Street Run and two Sixers playoff games.

Approximately 40,000 runners and spectators are expected to come out for the Broad Street Run on Sunday. In addition to the extra service scheduled for the event, runners can ride on the Broad Street Line for free by showing SEPTA cashiers the race identification number they received when they registered for the event.

SEPTA will also detour dozens of bus routes that run on or around Broad Street due to street closures for the race. Starting at 8 a.m. Sunday and continuing through the end of the race, the following routes will be on detour: 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 42, 23, 27, 29, 31, 32, 33, 37, 39, 40, 43, 44, 48, 53, 54, 56, 60, 61, 64, 68, 75, 79, 124, 125, G, J, H, XH, R. The Route 15 Trolley will also be detoured.

To serve runners and spectators, extra trips will run northbound on the Broad Street Line before the race. SEPTA will also have subway trains ready for post-race service.

In addition, SEPTA will roll out additional southbound trips to AT&T Station for fans heading to Sixers-Bulls playoff games on Friday and Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center.

This weekend’s extra service schedule is as follows:

 Friday, May 4th - Sixers vs. Bulls, 8 p.m., Wells Fargo Center: Three extra Local trips will be added to the Broad Street Line. Trips leave Fern Rock Station for AT&T Station at 7:08 p.m., 7:18 p.m. and 7:28 p.m.

 Sunday, May 6th - Broad Street Run – Starts 8:30 a.m. at Broad & Somerville Ave: Ten Express trains will be added on the Broad Street Line, with service starting at approximately 5 a.m. These extra trips will run northbound from AT&T Station. Riders should depart trains at Olney Transportation Center, which is located near the start area for the race.

 Sunday, May 6th – Sixers vs. Bulls, , 1 p.m., Wells Fargo Center: Three extra Local trips will run on the Broad Street Line before the game. Trains depart Fern Rock for AT&T Station at 12:08 p.m., 12:18 p.m. and 12:28 p.m.
